How Do I Coffee at Home?

I've become more comfortable ordering in a coffee shop, but it's too pricey and inconvenient for me to do more than a couple times a month. Any advice for a newbie wanting to make it at home? Is a coffeemaker a must? Do I have to grind beans? How do I grind beans?!? Which kind should I buy? I've enjoyed lattes the most so far, so I'm not ready for anything close to straight up black coffee. Am I still not ready for making it at home? Please help this grown-ass woman who knows next to nothing about coffee.
