Brunei Income and age category. If you do not have the type of yearly income when you are within the given age category, you are seriously screwed.

If you are between the ages of:

  1. 15-18 = $3,600-$4,800 (I know teenagers are not suppose to work, but now all children have privilege backgrounds and do have to work part time). To buy food and drinks for personal consumption, buying bicycles or motorcycles for school and work use and for the short sighted ones, cigarettes and alcohol.

  2. 18-24 = $4,800 - $6,000 - To pay for car, food and drinks, helping with some of the family expenses.

  3. 24-35 = $14,400 - $24,000. To pay for car, housing expenses, family expenses etc.

  4. 35 - 60 = $24,000 - $48,000 - To pay for car, housing expenses, family expenses and putting more savings into retirement.

Maybe I did this already in my old post. However, I just rechecked this on most of the people I know and checked on.

Having unemployment is not just the issue, but having having a large number of people employed and not having enough.

I did question the issue of "localisation" to key people and why has they not been a rise in a number of locals being encourage or sent to be involved in employments that could earn then $9,600 - $16,000 a year such as construction etc.

I mentioned that yes, there are locals that are "lazy", however, there is almost no opportunity given in the employments ads for locals who would "give it a try". We are living in a Monarchy, the government has absolute power to shut down any construction company that refuses to employ desperate and hard working locals, simply because it would be cheaper and more profitable to employ foreigners. These companies are making off hundreds of millions of dollars from government contracts, so a lot of that money should also be used to give Bruneian citizen job opportunities with a decent salary (above $800 a month) and i'am not talking about working as a damn clerk. And yes, BRUNEI CITIZENS, YELLOW IC Malays, Chinese, Indians, Caucasians etc.

The government localisation programme was meant to have 25% locals in most of the companies in Brunei. So its not meant to kick out the foreigners but to also encourage Bruneians to work in these fields.

People will say that Bruneians just want to enjoy the comfy jobs, but most of the comfy jobs available are only paying $4,800-$12,000 a year, barely enough.

How many of you here have tried to apply for these jobs?, I was surprise that you could actually earn $500 a month for the low level job and $1,000-$1,800 a month for the dangerous and machinery jobs.

People are not just committing crime because of drugs, alcohol and cigarettes but also because a lot of them think there is option on how to get more income, since they might only be earning $4,800 a year but actually need $14,400 a year (and no, this does not include the luxury items because it almost does not matter on how much you save, this is the monetary amount you will actually need). If I did not have my consistent income in just 4-5 months, I would be broke and in just 40 days, I would also be in that desperate category.

TLDR; if you don't have the income as stated within the age category, you are fucked.
