Scammed
Dota2, Redditers I have just been scammed. Not something to be proud of. But I want to know if i can do something about it? If lot of people report the steam account will it be banned? At least that way he won't be able to get away. Let me know how to deal with it.
Edit: i had played with him before. He has like 1300 hrs on record for Dota2. He started chatting normally. Then he told me he was a moderator at a betting site "dota2exort.net". He told me to pick any person from the betting pot and he would make him win. And he literally did make that person win. Just to be sure, I made the another person win the second time. Then he told me that he wants to partner with me. I bet and he will make me win and the winnings will be divided 50-50. So i did bet. I won. I had to bet twice in order to withdraw winnings. He told me i need to bet big second time so that he doesn't look suspicious. I did again. I won again. Then he told me the bot would send offer for the winnings. The bot sent an offer but it was an offer for rest of the valuable items. He told me that it was a verification offer. Since i won big, and to make sure I wasn't an hacker or so. And thus i got scammed. Beware everybody else. Edit 2: I had copied his account url - http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198043961689/ sadly nothing can be done. It may be one of many account bought by him to scam. I have reported the steam account to which i traded my items in the steam app.
