What does the whole "Advertisers leaving Youtube" drama mean for fledgling creators like me?

I started a Youtube channel recently. I don't plan to make any "controversial" content but I do swear every now and then in my videos. I don't have any plans on making a living off youtube, but I had thought that if I get moderately successful (like past 1000 subs) I could make a bit of change on the side to spend or steam sales or just some general beer money.
