[WV] Wrecked my car a two months ago and attempted suicide the next day. We asked if I could've had a concussion and the doctor said absolutely not. I was just diagnosed with a concussion from that wreck.

I am a minor and totaled my car two months ago in such a way that I didn't hit my head on anything, but my head whipped. (No whiplash, but my brain bounced and hit my skull or something) The next day I had a mental breakdown and attempted suicide.

At the hospital, my sister had my dad ask if I could have a concussion. The doctor responded saying "Absolutely not" because he did a "full neurological test" and they sent me to a mental hospital and the MD there diagnosed me with major depression and put me on the antidepressant Lexapro.

I was released within 4 days and we got a psychiatrist and tried a new antidepressant, cymbalta, and eventually went off it because they both came with way too many side effects.

Eventually my brother, with the help of his friend, and my psychiatrist decided to look into see if it was a concussion. After about a month of waiting, we found out today that it was a concussion and I'm still showing symptoms. We found this out thanks to Marshall University's Sports Health Concussion Clinic.

Is there anyway we could pursue medical malpractice against either the hospital or doctor who said absolutely not to a concussion and nearly ruined my life with a sending me down a path that led to a misdiagnosis of major depression.

Don't think I'm just jumping for money, being on those anti depressants was the worst experience of my life. I don't know how many other people have had this happen to them by him, and I don't want it to continue to happen.

Edit: something I forgot to mention was that the suicide attempt was spontaneous and not due to a depressive episode/spell. It came after an argument with my SO.
