It's early, but lets talk about wonky stats (and small sample sizes)
I was wondering about what the end of Royals Devil Magic looked like, and realized last night that it looked like this:
- Royals team BABIP 2014: .302 (12th)
Lowest was .277 (SD) highest was .326 (Rockies).
- Royals team BABIP 2015: .301 (11th)
Lowest was .280 (LAA) and highest was .322 (Tigers).
- Royals team BABIP 2016: .309 (7th)
Lowest for 2016 was .280 (A's) Highest was .326 (Rockies).
- Current 2017 Royals Team BABIP: .236 (28th)
27th goes to the Padres at .262.
For the Royals, LoCain is the only player with a BABIP above .300, he's sitting at .385 (for now). Next is Moose at .280. The two that started me thinking about this: Hosmer is sitting at .219, and Moss is at .154.
So, aside from Eric Thames, what other stats can you point to as super aberrant early on for your team?
