My [F25] boyfriend [M27] shares things I consider important with his roommate but not with me and it makes me feel jealous

[new]

We met 9 months ago, and became official 3 months later. We both say that this is the easiest, most mature relationship either of us have been in. We agree on marriage, when to live together, kids and religion.

I guess important is kind of subjective because I don't mean our sex life or finances or something where communication is a black and white deal breaker. What I'm talking about is trips he's taken. He comes back and tells his roommate/friends all about it, but not me.

This makes me feel unimportant like I'm just someone fun to hang out with, and not someone he's interested in sharing his life with.

He went on a trip 2 months after we met. He told me about how much he ate and how his friend got kicked out of a club, but that's it. This didn't bother me that much because it was so early on. Then he went on another trip about 4 months after we met. He snapchatted me a lot but when he got back only told me a couple things. He went with one of his roommates so I wasn't even able to overhear what he did. It's not like I want to keep tabs on him and I'm not worried about cheating. I just want him to genuinely want to share things with me.

He went on a much more involved trip this last weekend with his extended family whom I've never met. It was for a wedding and all I know is that it was fun, a lot of partying, his cousins groom is Jordanian and their traditional alcohol doesn't taste very good. I only know this because I overheard him telling his roommate. This was the night he got back and sitting in his living room he literally had his back to me while he gushed to his roommate.

I didn't want to bring it up at the time cause we hadn't seen each other in 6 days and he had just gotten off a plane so I was cutting him some slack.... But I still haven't heard shit about his trip. Of course, "ask him about it" you say. Well. I'm apprehensive because when we were still in the getting to know you stage I would ask him off the wall questions like. What do you day dream about. Were you nervous on our first date. what's a perfect day for you.

We got in a tiff because he felt it was "too forced." which makes me nervous about the response that I might get if I say, "so tell me about your trip." Like it's too worked up and puts him in the hot seat?

How do I encourage him to confide in me? That I want to know about his experiences? What wording should I use to make it breezy and non-confrontational? I don't think that I care too much, but maybe I do? It hurts that he's not so excited to tell me about all the fun he had...

I feel like it's important in a relationship and that it's kind of a main reason people are even in a relationship to begin with. Yeah you have your boys, you'll always have your boys, don't you want something more intimate? I would like to think that I care at least a little more about him than his roommates do, so why am I getting left out in the cold?

Tl;dr

My bf of 9m gushes to his roommates about his experiences on trips but not me. I would bring it up and encourage him to tell me about it but there's a history of him feeling like prompted conversations like that feeling too forced.
