Looking for 1br 7/1 <$1700 with utils Red line or lower allston

Hey, I'm starting a job near Kendall Square in July and I'm looking for a 1 br (or, less preferably, big studio) to take up then. I would be going for a 12 month lease with a view to extending up to 3 years.

I'm thinking Lower Allston/Brighton/Allston (easily bikeable and buses) or Camberville, up to Arlington or Fresh Pond. Quincy is also a possibility if the right place comes up.

Does this sound reasonable for my budget, and are there any other areas which anyone might recommend? I would also be extremely grateful for any leads (either for properties or reputable brokers). I am renting from outside the country.
