Is he trying to be my sD?

I am fairly new to the Sugar Bowl and have had a profile on SA for several months now. I have yet to meet the right SD however I have recently met a man at my job (in a completely different department/floor). He is much older than I am and there is chemistry and mutual physical attraction.

We have only gone out a handful of times together such as dinner or the mall. He has spoiled me, for only going out a few times in the past several months. When my car was in the shop he offered to get a rental car for me as long as I needed. He has bought me gift cards for several places that pertain to my interests, "just to make me feel special". I was also given another set of more extravagant gifts for being so casual, IMO. He has asked me to travel with him to a couple different places around the U.S. Just the other day we briefly chatted and he mentioned that he looks at himself as a mentor for me.

Is he trying to be a SD? I want to bring it up to him as this is the type of arrangement/relationship I am looking for however I do not want to offend him in any way. Should I bring up SA and see how he reacts? It would be ideal since we already get along and there is mutual chemistry.
