Discover through what mechanism a file was created?

Sorry, long time lurker purely out of interest in the topic, but complete I don't know anything about CF. I was playing around a long time with writing some code and I remember generating a text file called "TEST.txt" storing it in my home folder. I remember trying to automate this script and now every once in awhile I find the TEST.txt in my home folder after deleting it.

The problem is, I forgot which file I coded this in and forgot how I got it to automate as it was just some test code a long time ago. It's kind of annoying to have to keep on deleting it but mostly I'm curious to see if I can find out how this file keeps getting created after I delete it.

I'm currently on a MBP 2015 running MacOS Sierra.
