Why am I sick right now? Because God loves me...
I feel terrible. I can't breathe out of my nose, my eyes are watery, my throat and lips are dry and scratchy, and I feel foggy and achy. Why is this happening? God loves me, right? Shouldn't I be blessed as a child of God?
A little background of my week. I had an injury from working out a little bit ago and never quite got back to the volume of intensity that I have been doing (insert crossfit joke). During this downtime I also realized the Truth and started following Jesus! Fast forward to this week and I felt ready and raring to go, firing on all cylinders, nailing lifts, awesome. I'm back baby! The problem? My pride was also coming back. I realized that in the past, before I was a Christian, was looking at my fellow fitness enthusiasts and thinking that my ability to move more weight faster than them somehow made me a better person.
Silly I know, but before you laugh think about your own life. Maybe you crushed a project at work and thought, "Hell yeah I'm the best accountant at this firm!" or "I am the most Christianist of Christians at my church, way more Christian than those "other" Christians". God used this flu to humble me before Him, and to realize that even if I become the most fit dude in the world that I am nothing without Him and that He is my authority.
Just some food for thought while I am making a tissue mountain. Hope everyone has a great day.
TL;DR: Was becoming prideful in the gym. God said, "lol, bro" and now I feel like crap with the flu. Pondering what is going on and realized that through suffering Jesus is teaching me something and drawing me closer to Him. Figured would be nice to share plus I'm bored.
