TOTW trading advice

It used to be the case that there were bargains to be found as soon as TOTW dropped. The first 15 minutes used to be the golden period for finding TOTW cards going for less than their worth.

Now, with so many people on multimillion coin balances, and so much knowledge of trading floating around, this golden period has become a false economy.

Any cards you buy in the first 15 minutes will be the cards you are competing to buy against other investors. This is true for most of the first hour of the TOTW. Once an hour passes, that is when you will see major decreases in the price of new IFs.

This is for two reasons; the first being that any cards bought will be bought under fierce competition and likely will be listed at a competitive price by the investor hoping to make a quick profit. Therefore, any card you buy you run the risk of holding on to if you cannot sell beneath the next lowest price.

Secondly, once the hour is up, those cards listed by lucky pack openers with no idea of the card worth will start coming in. These are usually listed at min open bid and max BIN. Some people find it hard to read the market and guess the worth of their card and so just leave it open to interpretation. The moment those open bids finish is exactly the moment to start scouring for deals.

This is because the cycle of undercutting from quick flip investors will clash with the open bids cards finishing. Those cards may also be flipped for a profit, which will mean a whole new wave of undercutting cards starting up at 59 mins. All of this will coincide with a steady stream of freshly packed IFs and IFs being relisted at a new BIN after failing to sell.
