Suggestion: Neutral Alloys as Starship Powerups

I was thinking that a cool use for the otherwise useless Neutral Alloys (Crollium, Lemmium, etc) would to have the option, from the quick menu, to "feed" them into a subsystem for a short-term arcade style powerup which is then consumed.

As an example: Feed Aronium into your Shields and you get 10sec of invulnerability. Feed Terumin into your pulse engines to get a speed boost. Throw Magmox into your pulse drive to negate pirate interference. Herox into your shield to make a cloaking device. Lemmium into your Photon Cannon to create a Death Blossom effect.

Because of the cost and their relative bulk, it would be a fun way to actually make them useful and give another fun dimension to gameplay in-keeping with the original style of the game (arcade)
