Measuring a surface in degrees

Hi all.

I want to run an experiment to see if uneffective use of the visual span has any effect on recognition of the whole stimuli.. therefore I have to set up some manipulations of different size stimuli.

How do I calculate how large, for instance, 6 degrees is from a certain point of distance?
