A plea for Robocop

First off I'm not dissing any other songs on 808s, in fact I think it is one of Kanye's top 3 albums, but i just don't understand how Robocop gets so much more hate relative to every other song on that album.

I remember listening to this album for the first time in the rain on about an hour long drive and when I first heard the violins on this song I was blown away. Later on that week I was reading about 808s and what people thought and I was amazed no one every talked about this part. Now obviously other parts are great on this album and I don't want to discredit the rest but this song is by far my personal favorite.

I understand that the reference to Robocop can be corny and the chorus can be jarring at first, but to me, the chorus isn't even the Robocop lines, it's the okays that get repeated. The violins in the background (or whatever the hell they are I'm not an expert) are the best 5 seconds of any Kanye song ever. They are the climax of the song and the Robocop lines are just a lead in back to the verses.

Also the last third of the song where Kanye is just singing to a few violin notes about the spoiled little LA girl is yet another incredible moment on the song. You really feel Kanye's emotion towards his ex and it is an exquisite way to end the song.

Another thing to mention is how this song is sandwiched between Paranoid and Streetlights so it can be overshadowed, but to me this is the best 3 song stretch on any of Kanye's albums. I don't expect this song to win the survivor or anything but in my opinion it is far and away better than songs such as Coldest Winter and Bad News.

TL:DR Robocop is a masterpiece
