Ya know, the owner has made a lot of people angry. Somebody is going to get smart and give the dog a haircut, and then take it to another city's pound.

If I ever see that dog running around I'm going to take him home and keep him. 100%. I have another dog who has been under my responsible control for a decade without once requiring me to attend court because he's out running in traffic for the 9th time, imagine that shit. Someone PM me next time you see him around and I'm stealing that dog.

Not before I steal him first!

Charles got picked up and taken to Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center by someone who found him wandering the mean streets. They had just withdrawn charges against his owner back in December for failure to control an animal resulting from complaints of the dog wandering the neighborhood. O.o

Article from April 2016:

http://wavy.com/2016/04/15/charles-the-monarch-owner-pleads-guilty-receives-long-list-of-provisions/

Daniel Painter, the owner of Charles, was charged with failure to exercise proper care and control of his animal. He pleaded guilty to the charge, and received a total of 60 days in jail and $2,500 fine suspended — conditioned on two years good behavior — and a total of six agreed to provisions.

The city says Painter agreed that he will lose custody of Charles if the dog is found at-large again. If that happens, Charles would be handed over to the city, and then be adopted out to a “responsible owner.”

This is like the "distraction narrative" of Norfolk, lol

I used to live a couple doors down. Charles is cool as fuck and just roams the area in the summer. It's just a few animal haters that make this into a storyline.

Not even animal haters. It's the dumb cunt owner who can't keep his dog off of public property and at home. The last thing anyone wants to see is Charles pancaked on the side of a road from a truck much larger than him

Eh Charles is pretty good about keeping on the sidewalk actually.

No, he's not. Can't tell you how many times I'd see him 2-3 blocks away from home. Once saw him wandering in traffic on colley.

Yea but should he be on the stupid sidewalk in the first place?
