There's so many stupid comments of "if I were that employee I would have slapped the gun out of his hand"

lol okay

Let me know how that works out for ya, oh genius commenter.

Why risk it for some stupid job? When I was a manager in food I told every employee I don't care if they drew a gun on a napkin with a pencil. Give them every drawer, and whatever else they want. Hell, make them some food for the road.

Why fight for shit that belongs to a company that doesn't give a damn about it's employees? I'd have gladly opened every part of the safe too.

Yeah, sure way to get hurt. This is why I would have used the five finger death punch.

7

I can do a 5 finger death punch with just 3 fingers..... left handed....

Well first of all, the weapon wasn't even in battery, so nothing would have happened if he pulled the trigger.

Psh...guns don't need batteries idiot.

This whole incident raises a question I wondered after my ride along last night. Where do gangbangers practice on how to use a gun? They probably don't go to the range. They probably don't take a gun safety class. Can they buy ammo at walmart?

Imagine going into a violent situation, and the only thing you have to protect yourself is a handgun in your pocket, but you've never fired it before, and you only have a vague notion of how a gun works? Like, what you've seen in movies and heard in music? I'd be pretty scared that I had a 50/50 chance of shooting myself.

Is it worth getting pistol whipped while working a minimum wage job? No it isn't.

8
CokeGodlyNot a(n) LEO / Unverified User•

If you take the gun from him he can't pistol whip you.

I sincerely hope you get the opportunity one day to put your money where your mouth is.

I'm well aware of that. Anybody with eyes and an inkling of knowledge about guns could see that.

"Rack that slide back to show them you mean business when you go in there."

"Aight, it's my first time holding a gun tho."

Aside from the fact that the gun is jammed, he's probably just dead inside from having to work at a place like Jimmy John's. That or he has a bunch of students loans and just like, "Fuck it at least I'll be done with Salle Mae."

The level of complete apathy from most service workers isn't shocking. Go on, take the till. It's not like I'll get a bonus for fighting you. Hell, I'll probably get fired for violating company policy.

If he didn't double feed there is a good chance he'd have shot that guy given his finger is on the trigger and he's all jacked up.

20
-weinerbutt-EMT (retired)•

Not a double feed! It was a FTF! He didn't have two rounds in action, it was a single round being caught up on the feed ramp. Slapping the back of the slide would bring it into battery.

It was a POS "Jimenez" brand gun.

omg_bbq_brbNot a(n) LEO / Unverified User•

FTF meaning failure to feed? I've always heard failure to fire. Too many f-words. Fuck.

-weinerbutt-EMT (retired)•

Failure to feed.

MCXLYou need him in your life (Not a(n) LEO)•

Both of these FTF malfunctions are what we call level 1 malfunctions. Tap and rack should solve the issue.

This is why I'll never work a cashier job again. After getting robbed a few times, its just not worth minimum wage. I'd rather be homeless on the street than shot/stabbed with no health insurance and minimum wage.

Eh robberies are fine, my problem was when they stopped letting us have free drinks

I got assaulted when I was a gas station attendant. The station paid all my medical expenses plus a few days off from work so that I didn't look like I'd been punched in the face when dealing with customers.

But yeah, it's still not worth it. People suck. Customers suck more. Entitled customers suck the worst.

DAT Double Feed

-1
MCXLYou need him in your life (Not a(n) LEO)•

It's a failure to feed, not a double.

2
NoahHadersCATSA Public Relations Expert. Not a(n) LEO•

If you have a ftf, how would you know without pulling the trigger?

1
MCXLYou need him in your life (Not a(n) LEO)•

You probably wouldn't, but that's only because adrenaline of the moment. If you are used to how a gun should feel when you do things, it's not hard to feel when it fails to go into battery.

That said, you don't know if its a level one or level two malfunction until you do some immediate action. Tap and rack is step one, if the gun doesn't fire still, it's a level 2 malfunction and you need to get that mag out to clear it.
