I like all of this, my only contention is the usage of meniscus. Its a particular anatomical feature found in the knee, wrist, jaw, or clavicle area (however colloquially its referred to the knee).

Because its so particular, it feels awkward placed in the mind. I think a brain-specific anatomical structure would work better? Like perhaps fascia, dendrites and axon terminals, neurons, synapses, etc.
