I want to buy the NZXT puck, but I am concerned over its safety. I apologize if this has been asked before, but can attaching the magnets to a PC case damage internal components like SSD's?

I've had my puck on the front panel of my S340 Elite since I got it in November. So far as I can tell there aren't any damages and I don't expect any being that there's a fair amount of space between the panel and the fans to allow for airflow
No, unless its extremelly close to it. Side/front panels are safe.
Unless you are still using floppy disks there should be no risk of damage to your components.
