I think the content drives this poem in a nice direction but what I really struggle with is the diction. For the majority of the poem the languge is fairly advanced and literary, but now and then you dip into colloquialisms: "stomp real loud", "counting down 3, 2, 1" are the ones that really stand out. I think by keeping the language and tone consistent the poem will be stronger.

I liked it, especially how you retrospectively relate yourself to the monsters. What I didn't like is inconsistency in semantics. For example:

> Of the monsters near our bed

People generally refer to monsters staying **under** the bed, the idea is you aren't supposed to see them directly. This is confusing and doesn't seem to benefit you in any way.

>And the clock slowly ticks / Counting down 3, 2, 1

Clocks do not work like that. We use clocks to express the passage of time, waiting, anticipation. The thing you're referring to is a timer, but I guess you wouldn't like the idea of putting "timer" in, I wouldn't like it too (without a really good reason, and there's no). You'll have to work around it. If I were you, I'd reconsider the countdown as, in my opinion, it conveys little to no sense.

>and leave behind these white walls

This is the first time you refer to "these walls" like if there's some room, even though you haven't introduced / described any kind of room in prior to th

I liked this poem a lot, it is short & sweet. I think the last line of the first stanza could be enjambed better, and while I like that you keep that one image together it felt slightly off compared to the rest of the poem. I would also take of the rhyme of the second verse because it seems to stick out strangely.
