Well first off. If I have skin in the game, I always wake up ten minutes before the market. Do some quick research and get ready for open. Also I usually stay up till 4 am the previous night doing the same.
Here's the big context you need when you BUY(Buy To Open) an option call/put you're not obligated to do shit. However when you WRITE one (Sell To Open) you are obligated too. You close out an option you bought by hitting Sell to Close and Hopefully you get tendy monies. If not all you loose is the premium+ brokerage fees + your dignity. When you write one however you collect the premium, but are required to buy/sell never do this unless you own the underlying(stock the contract has exposure too) and have a strategy in place.
Also when you close the option before expiration you do sell the contract for very possible dank gains. When you buy/write an option the contract becomes a commodity in a way and has it's own intrinsic value independent of just the underlying. For lack of a better definition you're essentially selling a commodity linked to a security.

You can sell it anytime at the bid price. Very few people actually exercise their options.
I'd suggest you read up more on delta and theta decay to know which strike price and expiry date to pick.
You buy to open the contract, then sell to close if you want to sell it back, hopefully for a profit.
Hardly anyone actually exercises their call contracts. If you want to own the stock, then sell to close the contract and buy 100 shares.
thank you this is the answer I was looking for
youve earnmed one trumpbuck
I gave you the exact same answer with more context douchebag, and didnt get a thanks. This is why we dont like noobs on this sub.
dont feel bad
You can always close a contract. The difference between futures and options is that with futures, you're obligated to fulfil the contract if you hold it, whereas with options, you have the optionality of exercising it or letting it expire.
