DC Reddit meetup for the 30+ crowd?
Hey folks,
Wanna start by saying that there's absolutely nothing wrong with the current meetups that are being hosted and organized in the sub. I know a lot of work is being put into them, and the people who show up are kind and friendly.
That being said, the current meetup definitely caters to a younger crowd. If you show up and you're 30, there's a good chance you are the oldest person there. There's a preference for loud, crowded venues with large amounts of cheaper booze. Nothing wrong with that! When I was younger that was great.
I'm a little older now, and my preferences have changed. I'd prefer to go to some places and have fewer, higher quality drinks. I'm not looking to get wasted, maybe just a pleasant buzz. I'd like to meet in a place where I can hear the people I'm there with and have some pleasant conversation. I love younger folks, but I feel weird hanging out with a group of people when I could almost literally be their dad.
All of this is a long way of asking: Is there any interest in a Reddit meetup for the 30+ crowd?
OK, looks like there's interest. I'll look into it, take down names, and get back to you guys for a weekend soon. If you want to be included, just drop a note below. :)
