How do you like the lapping films? I've been using the 5,000 and 10,000 waterstones and then finishing with 0.5 strop and I've really enjoyed the results.
I've never tried water stones before, but it seems that lapping films would be a lot easier and cleaner in the long run. Basically what I did was I bough a pack of high grit sandpaper up to 7,000 grit for 5 bucks and just cut out the shape of a diamond stone with a bit of excess on the sides so I could tape the paper onto a stone. From there, it sorta just works as a lapping film or a strop. From my experience, they work pretty good.
THAT'S a 7000 grit finish? It looks amazing
Thanks man, I honestly didn't think it would come out thay shiny because it was still a bit cloudy even at 6000 grit. But once I got the 7K lapping film on, oh man was it shiny like a mirror.
What knife is that?
Just some cheap knife I found at a gun show, thanks for your curiosity though.
Indeed - looks like it'd make a nice work knife for opening boxes and whatnot.
I think I remember seeing them in a catlogue as Tac-Force or Mtech?
