Obligatory Tiger Woods High on Opiates Post
Hello Fam!
My hope is that all of you are making the best of your journey today.
If you haven't already seen it; please do look at the mugshot of Tiger Woods from over the weekend. https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=loLcSy3x&id=AB84E9FD2EBA9A02B1C338FD5F9A94A4DFBF6B2F&thid=OIF.8GLpiAI31zN3hGi8chQ6oA&q=tiger+woods+mugshot&simid=215651848341&selectedIndex=0&ajaxhist=0
He was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being found sound asleep behind the wheel of his Mercedes. Foot was on the brake and car was running. Blew a 0.0 on the breathalyzer.
We're talking about a guy who was literally on top of the world while I was attending college. My best friend and I used to say: "One day, we'll tell our kids we got to watch Tiger Woods play golf." What a treat it was to witness someone at the pinnacle.
Oh; how the mighty have fallen. Despite the fact that he can no longer play the sport which has literally defined his existence, and despite the fact that he's a morally flawed human being who rampantly cheated on the mother of his kids....I never truly felt bad for him. The guy has it all, right? He is money, property, and prestige personified.
That all changed over the weekend. Tiger has undergone four back surgeries over the past three years trying to recapture that lightning in a bottle. Opiate abuse is clearly part of his story now.
TL;DR I guess what I'm trying to say is that this disease doesn't discriminate. There's a popular expression: Park bench to Park Ave. Addiction doesn't care. It'll infiltrate every aspect of your life until the pain is too great, or until you're dead.
Living clean isn't all sunshine, but it beats the hell out of being a slave to pills and dope 10/10 times. Keep pushing guys. Love you all.
