Need some help..

I'm a graphics designer and i like to play steam games on the side like counter strike which i know doesn't need a fancy build. I've have my old computer now for a while but i feel it's time for an upgrade.. i custom built the one i have now but it was my first build and i didn't know much about building a computer. I was wonder what graphics card should i get that would be optimized the best for both graphics design and some gaming. i have a high budget if needed but would prefer to not go to expensive. thanks
