Ethernet connection limited to 10Mbps
Good afternoon everyone,
About three months ago I had submitted this "case" to this subreddit already, but I was honestly too lazy to test everything and there was some private, priority stuff that needed to be sorted out first.
Still since then I managed to continue testing and I just can't find anything faulty and everything I try doesn't help a thing.
Hardware specs should be over in my old thread!
Things I have tried so far:
| Method | Result |
|---|---|
| Ethernet cable (cat6) connected directly to my computers motherboards ethernet port | Speed limited to 10 Mbps |
| Ethernet cable (cat6) connected directly to my laptops ethernet port | Full speed of about 102 Mbps |
| Ethernet cable (cat6) connected to a USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter plugged into a USB 3.0 port on my computer | Speed limited to 10 Mbps |
| Ethernet cable (cat6) connected to a USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter plugged into a USB 3.0 port on my laptop | Full speed of about 98 Mbps |
| USB-Wifi dongle (USB 2.0) plugged into a USB (2.0/3.0) port on my computer | Speed limited to 10 Mbps |
| USB-Wifi dongle (USB 2.0) plugged into a USB (2.0/3.0) port on my laptop | Wifi-typical speed of about 51 Mbps |
I also switched out ethernet cables.
Playing around with "Speed & Duplex" settings in the driver preferences also does not do a thing, whichever option is picked will never have a faster connection than those 10 Mbps. Different drivers=same story.
I'm out of ideas with this one. If anyone has an idea or any advice I'd appreciate it!
