Is overheating during come down common?

Last weekend I took some ecstacy and as the drug was wearing off (a few hours after taking it) my body temperature spiked. I was outside it and it was 62°, but I felt very hot all over. I did everything I could to keep it down by drinking small amounts of water and repeatedly pouring water on my head/body, but I'm wondering if this type of temperature spike is common. It is worth noting that I hadn't eaten for around 12 hours before the come down and I began feeling better after I got some food in me. I am concerned about potential damage that could have been caused.
