Switching DMs between Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat

My group is about half way through HotDQ and we plan on continuing through RoT. I offered to run RoT to let my DM get some time as a PC.

I plan on waiting until we finish HotDQ before I start reading RoT to save myself from spoilers. I also plan on having my current PC leave the group, I have no interest in having a full DMPC (Though he may pop in from time to time.)

Are there any possible hangups that could come out of the transition? Any thoughts, advice or just general experiences with doing something like this would be appreciated!
