Adding a quick disconnect to Maker Select V2

Has anyone added a disconnect between the control box and the printer?

I'm.thinking about putting female plugs on the control box side and male plugs on the printer side. Sort of like a PC power supply.

Is there any danger in doing this? if not then what plugs would you suggest? My googling has come up with nothing.
