Question about Noiseless Singles vs Bright Humbuckers
Hey guys. I have some Dimarzio Area 67+61 on the way. Got a good deal on em and I figured I'd give noiseless a try since my house hum is horrible.
I'll let my ears do the judging when they come in but I had a basic question about these types of stacked pickups vs a brighter humbucker like a filteron or wide range. If these don't work out for me, I'll probably swap them for some kind of wide range solution.
A lot of people seem to love the Areas and just as many shit on them (and any noiseless for that matter) for being nowhere close to the real deal. But its hard to a separate genuine criticism from unwarranted tone snobbery.
At the absolute worse, by design, these can't be any more "tone sucking" than a real humbucker right? If my worst case scenario with these is a very single coilish sounding humbucker, I think I can live with that. Isn't that what a Wide range basically is?
How would these compare to a brighter Humbucker with single coil tendencies like a filteron or wide range?
