Can't initialize new Western Digital Red 2TB HDD in Windows 10? Help, my second attempt.
I was looking to get additional storage for my desktop. Not to be used for a boot drive, just storage for music/videos/etc.
I can't seem to initialize or install it to work in my Windows 10. I'm reading things like it's a NAS drive and is looking for a RAID configuration to run. Link to drive I'm talking about
Thing is, I have had almost the same HDD working fine in my system for more than a year (another WD 2TB Red #WD20EFRX). The only diff. I see is on the new HDD that doesn't initialize or install it says NASware3.0 on the drive, and the one that is already installed and working it says NASware, without the 3.0.
Is it maybe my motherboard or BIOS that is not allowing this new drive to work? My MB is Gigabyte P55A-UD3 ATX LGA1156.
Why can't I get this drive to install and work in my system? I'm a little baffled.
