Anthony Hope is the next Judge Turpin

Think about this one.

Anthony sees a beautiful girl and then plots on how to steal her away. Now who else is mentioned in the story as seeing a beautiful girl and stealing her. Judge Turpin. Anthony doesn't know anything about Johanna and is already trying to take her. He even walks around the whole city just to look for her.

Now it can be argued that he just really wants to help her but that doesn't really motivate people in most movies. Remember that most people in this movie have some form of mental disorder.
