SSRIs / worsening symptoms

edit: i am going off SSRIs and my doctor said they aren't helping, so please note this, thank you!

hi everyone. i was wondering if anyone here takes/has taken SSRIs, and if you have, has that led to any symptoms worsening (such as, but not limited to, emotional blunting?)

i'm asking because i had an appointment with my psychiatrist yesterday, and he told me he's sure i have "SSRI-induced apathy syndrome"... he said this is something that is well-documented and researched (yet, he was unable to find an article online to give me about it....he told me to "just google it").

i've heard about anti-depressants causing emotional numbing and people to feel almost like robots before, but i wasn't aware this was actually considered to be some sort of medical condition?

anyway i've been feeling kinda disturbed about this. i'm tapering off my SSRI now as my psychiatrist told me to. if anyone has any sort of insight or experience into this, i would really appreciate hearing from you!
