CardSyndicate Ontario DL Review

Review

##You know how people go: ‘When I was young and naïve…’, this perfectly describes my very first purchase from this sub. I’m originally from the 6 (gets hired by u/tidalfakes) and very attached to that section of North America, so my Timmie pride chose CardSyndicate to get me my first ID from my province. For all of you guys that have never heard of him, which is probably plenty of you, yes he’s on the VVL and is known to be shady, sketch, and extremely overpriced. Now, make no mistake; although all of those three are true, he did come through in reasonable time which matters a lot to customers at the end of the day.
This is my very first review too, so don’t nail the shit out of me. I do love this sub’s autism jokes, but save it for my second, third, fourth, and so on reviews.

###Uncertainty Level: Medium

#Communication: [Polite/Professional/Timely —> Polite/Less Timely]

This guy is absolutely professional and friendly to talk to before you place your order and process your payment. You’ll get a reply, sometimes two or three a day. He even shows you a finished picture of him holding your ID in his hand, and you pay after that. But place your order and the communication dies out; you’ll end up getting a reply every 3 days or so. Now he’s not my best pal or something where I expect to have some sort of conversation every day with him, but according to the VVL their ETA is about 1 week. I emailed after a week trying to follow up and that’s when I realized that the communication gets sketch. If he can reply daily when it comes to enquiries about the product, I’m pretty sure he can reply about an inquiry related to shipping, especially considering his lack of presence on reddit/any online platform beside email (and the increase in exit scams lately).

#Cost: [$190 with dupe // $140 without dupe]
Money is no object? This guy is your man. His IDs are insanely expensive. You may want to stick around the sub if you’re new and you’ll find several vendors who sell a cleaner, accurate product for a better price. This guy sells any of his IDs for $140 and and extra $50 for each dupe. On the other hand you can also see it in a way that he’s the only vendor on the VVL who offers the ON province DL. It’s a monopoly and a monopolistic product always sells for higher prices.

#Shipping: [2 and a half weeks // ETA on VVL - 1 wk]
Fucking disappointing. I was new and naïve and thought the VVL was the most accurate thing I could find on this planet. He even said the IDs would be there in a week! On a serious note, I didn’t really mind the wait but wish that some vendors were more accurate with their estimated shipping times. If you say 4 weeks and deliver by 3 weeks, everyone loves you; say 2 weeks and deliver in 5, you might just get some shit from your customers (except anomalies). Decent shipping time though, happy at the end of the day to receive my IDs in a reasonable time.

#Stealth: [Good enough]
I could not tell that there were IDs inside the envelope from the outside, and once opened there was another thing concealing the IDs. Passed customs so it can definitely pass dorms. For dorms, it comes in your mailbox and not as a package. And no, cannot pass parents if they open the envelope.

#Lenticular Lens: [Not implemented]
Absolutely no implementation of any lenticular lens effect or anything similar to that. A giveaway for any in-province use.

#Template: [Not Vibrant/Small Noticeable Errors/Well Aligned] [Front | Back | No Raised Text [1] [2] | Micro Text|Design]

  • I’ve majorly comparing the template with scans of my friend’s driver’s license. The template as a whole seems a little darker than it should be. I see he’s definitely tried to implement the rainbow printing effect simply by color transitions as you move from left to right of the ID. However, the lack of the lenticular lens makes this seem dull and takes out away the feel of an ON ID.
  • There are 4 bullet points at the protected secondary information in the bottom right corner that aren’t there on the real DL. The boundary that contains the picture is larger than usual. The vertical text/barcode on the left of the picture should be less closer to the left side of the ID. The larger picture portrait space pushes that more towards the left side of the ID than it should be at.
  • There is a series of 7 digits in stars in the bottom of front of the ID and right bottom of the back of the ID; not there on my friend's real ON DL. The micro text in the background should be more crisp too. The alignment of stuff on the rest of the ID compared to the original is almost negligible and would not be noticed by a bouncer.
  • The text on the ID looks spot on, so no complaints there. There are other reasons why this ID is definitely not usable in the ON province, maybe even extending to other provinces and some bordering US states. The most obvious giveaway is that the original ON DL has raised lettering of the license’s number, signature, and DOB. This ID, however, has no raised text at all.
  • Lastly, the ID also feels thicker and weighs greater than all of the teslin IDs I own from this sub (almost as if it is PVC), however, it does bend all the way like this before almost getting back to its original shape. Placed it under some books for 10-15 mins to iron out any small hiccups. Unfortunately, I do not know what material/blend of materials it is made of and how closely it matches the real ON DL due to lack of knowledge.

600 dpi scans [Front | Back]

#Holograms: [None]
Once again another security feature not implemented on this ID.

#Photoshop: [Accurately grey scaled] [Submitted | Photoshop]
After a lot of missing features, this is a part well done in terms of the gray scale shading. Should be a little zoomed out though, with more of the shoulders visible.

#Scanning: [Almost complete] [BCS]
Slight issue here, there’s a random “DAK” after province in the address section. My postal/zip code has also been coded in twice, one after the other, with the second postal/zip code left incomplete. Not really something that makes or breaks the ID but definitely should have gotten this part right. Scans on BCS, Scannr, and pdf417.

#UV: [Crisp/Vibrant/Sharp] (I'll update with pictures soon)
Great job done here. Bouncers legit only UV this because of their lack of general idea and happen to see this. There’s no going back once it’s been UV’d; you’re in.

#Signature: [Perfect] [Submitted | ID Signature | Protected Secondary Signature]
Perfectly sized and perfectly thick. Probably one of the best parts of this ID.

#Conclusion: [Overpriced but effective]
Despite the lack of implementation of a lot of ON’s security features such as holograms, raised text, and the lenticular lens effect, this ID has not yet failed me. I’ve made use of this on the east coast (while being excessively careful in Boston) and in the midwest. I’ve seen bouncers at bars/clubs just let me in because they have no idea about ON’s security features. Other times, I’ve been grilled but fortunately for me I do live at that very address on my ID. I feel Canada is not too far from the US to be considered ‘international’, but also not close enough for bouncers to know every aspect of the IDs from there. There’s definitely a lot of work to be done on this ID and I -currently- would not recommend it at the moment due to its high cost and lack of security features. However, if money is no real object, knock yourself out. Fuck my Timmie pride and my lack of knowledge for ripping me off on this one but thanks u/CardSyndicate for providing me with one of the most effective IDs I currently own.

I strongly recommend that you proceed with caution if you plan on purchasing from CardSyndicate. This is only because of his lack of presence on this subreddit, nothing more. This order was placed in mid-February and I have no idea if he has been completing his orders off late.

^^If ^^I ^^have ^^made ^^any ^^errors/forgotten ^^anything ^^anyone ^^is ^^aware ^^off, ^^please ^^do ^^let ^^me ^^know ^^in ^^the ^^comments ^^and ^^I'll ^^add ^^it/change ^^that ^^part ^^of ^^the ^^review.
