Need help with Pternodon

So pretty new to the game. Just got my saddle for my first flying creature. Took like 3 hours to farm the keratin.

Was so excited to try it out, I flew to a beacon at night. I died. Pternodon survived. However the beacon has disappeared and I cannot find my Pternodon.

Is there anyway to find it? Any strategies. I have admin on server as well.

If not, what are some efficient ways to farm keratin if I have to restart?
