Thinking of becoming a professional MUA. I'm 17. Anything I need to know?

Makeup is my passion. I cannot imagine having a job that doesn't have to do with makeup. Are there any big things I need to know before I pursue this? I plan on going to college first and foremost and getting a degree that I can fall back on. Not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask on, but advice is appreciated :)
