What's the deal with everyone hating Bastion?
So I stopped playing Overwatch around 10 months ago, stopping at level 46. I stopped because no class truly felt mine and there was so little teamwork, it wasn't fun playing. Picked up the game again with a friend about a week ago and been playing Bastion (or Mercy) since, currently at level 81. This was also the start of me playing competitive, I played 26 minutes of Comp in S1 but never again until now. Now the thing is, I love playing Bastion, he's a ton of fun to me. And I believe I'm somewhat decent with him, currently at ~2500 SR. Which isn't a lot, but as someone who never plays this game I'm proud. I've also been watching "Kolorblind", the top Bastion in the world to improve my gameplay as Bastion, it's a lot harder than people think. My problem is, anytime I pick Bastion in competitive, at least 1 person has a problem with it. Most of the time, people tell the lobby to report me for "throwing", just because I pick Bastion or they constantly tell me to switch. I'm okay switching when needed, but most people tell me to switch even when I'm doing the best on the team, again, just for playing Bastion. Usually, I end up proving them wrong, but I'm just sad to see a playerbase hate someone for a hero they enjoy playing. I remember when everyone hated Bastion in the beginning because of how good/annoying he was. Now, people see him as a joke as far as I can tell. Don't get me wrong, it's fun proving people wrong that don't believe me, but every single match, there's always someone with a problem. I personally don't meet very many toxic players, but these take the cake with me. LET PEOPLE PLAY THE CLASSES THEY ARE GOOD AT AND STOP GIVING THEM SHIT FOR IT! I hate the everliving shit out of Genji, but I don't give Genji players a hard time, because I respect them at least. That's all.
TL;DR: I main Bastion and every comp match I get someone hating me/reporting me just for playing Bastion. How about letting people play the classes they are comfortable with instead of giving them hate for it.
