Do you ever feel like you might "run out" of potential matches in your area?
This is something that's been bugging me recently. Say you live in a medium-sized city, around 200k people – depending on your age and preferences, there might be a couple hundred people in town who are single, looking to date, around your age, and more or less your "type".
Now, in the old days when you could only meet people in real life, you'd never have to worry about exhausting that pool – even if you went out a lot, you'd probably never meet more than a dozen or two of them in your lifetime. OKCupid and especially Tinder have changed the equation, though: you can now swipe through a hundred people a day, likely including a few of your potential matches. So if you're an active swiper, it seems you're draining the pool faster than it can be replenished (e.g. by new people moving into town, or coming out of relationships).
Especially if you've drastically changed your looks or profile, this seems a bit tragic: there may be a lot of people who'd give the new you a chance, but who already swiped left on the old you.
Thoughts? Is this a valid fear or nothing to worry about?
