How do I get rid of the Google feed / assistant / whatever-it-is thing that is placed next to my homescreen?

I just got my new phone (Xperia XZ Premium) and there is this pre-installed Google thing which takes up the entire screen (shows up when I swipe left on my homescreen). This blocks me from using the screen on the left hand side of my homescreen and that really annoys me.

How can I get rid of it? Is that even possible?

Thanks in advance!
