A story that I wrote

Dark. So Dark. I eagerly climbed over the dusty and broken fence as a feeling of ecstasy overtook my soul; a shiver ran down my spine but I knew this was the right thing to do. Gazing up into the sky, my eyes danced around, anticipating the joy, which was yet to come, so far, yet so close. It had to be done. The frightening rain pattered dismally upon the miserable concrete as the moon shone bravely in the ominous night sky. Darkness illuminated the scene. Screaming and howling, the fierce wind swept over my ebony black hair like fragile strands of hair forced to bow down to the authority of the hairdryer on high. Hope. A car shot past me, it was a beast on wheels tearing through an enemy. Excited and bursting with energy, I took my first step forward – it was time, it had to be now or never, my only hope, my only burning desire. Time stood still…
“Let’s do this”, I whispered to myself.
Surrounding me, I could almost taste success trickling down my throat, the sweet smell of success. Serenity. Standing tall and proud, the walls of the mammoth house looked down on me, as if welcoming me to perform my duty. I was honoured to perform such a duty, a poor man like me. “What am I, a weak man with an even weaker banking account, I deserve this”, I bellowed as my voice echoed in the distance, ringing like a warning in my ears. My conscience swelled, my heart grew: I had to do this. Gazing up into the heavens, I slowly scaled up the deep, dark walls of the beautiful house; peering over my shoulder, I knew there was no going back. Hope.
Thrilled and exhilarated, I found myself in the landing of the house. Directly in front of me was the famous door, which my master had told me about. I could remember him telling me about how I should go about doing this, how he almost lost his small toe on his right foot, how he almost died, how he ALMOST got the prized possessions, how he now gave me the ultimate opportunity to prove myself and how this was my chance. Now.
Surging forward with sheer force and power I raced towards the door, shredding it apart like a chainsaw rips through bodies, only I did it better. My heart began to beat so fast, it was going to jump out at any second if it kept going any faster, penetrating my chest uncontrollably with fear, panic, excitement and energy. Surprisingly, no one was in the room, absolutely abandoned, littered with dirt, dust and debris, like a mad man had run riot. Rapidly, I rummaged around the disarray of clutter but to no avail, it was gone, my hope, my chance, my life vanished in front of my eyes, a million memories came back to me and went. My only hope. My only wish. A solitary tear trickled down my battered cheek. I closed my eyes and thought about what to do. Slowly opening them back up; I thought it was all a puerile dream. No this was real.
I had to go now, my life was completely worthless now; master will despise me now. Smashing and crashing up and down, like a child out of control, the windows sparkled at me like a sign telling me what to do. Impulsively, I trudged over to the window, my heart filled with despair, my mind filled with dread, my knees as heavy as lead. All hope was lost.
Suddenly, I felt two immense, grimy and filthy hands wrap around my neck…
