When is the ideal time to apply for Survivor?

Trust me, I know tons of people apply, and the chance to actually getting on Survivor is very slim to none - but that doesn't stop me from wanting to take a shot anyway.

However, I'm curious if anyone knows when the ideal time to submit a video audition is?

I know they film from roughly March - May and then May - July, so I can't imagine the production crew is looking too deeply into submitted videos around that time...

so does anyone know from experience/general info as to when production is really trying to figure out their cast for the season/finalize the details?
