Where to go Next?

I've killed the Broken Vessel and claimed the Monarch Wings. The crossroads suck now, and the elderbug, who usually guided me on where to go just wants me to sit on a nice bench.

I now know I have 3 options on what to do.

A) Go to deepnest. I've never been there, but I've heard the horror stories

B)Climb the Watcher's Spire. I know that there is a very hard boss there, but I do like the City of Tears.

C) Fight the Dung Defender and explore the rest of the Royal Waterways. I'm not gonna lie, I hate this place. The sound, the enemies, the claustrophobc tunnels. I really hope I can put this one off.

Are there any other options/tools that the Monarch Wings provide? Which of these areas are best done first! Please help, thank you!
