Left- and right-handed wheel suspensions?

I know using wheels will probably scar me for life. It's ok, I'm a masochist.

I'm building a rover. I notice that wheel suspensions now come in left and right versions. All the wiki and youtube stuff I've looked at before building doesn't mention this.

What's the deal with wheel handedness. Should I pay attention to it?
