Emergency New Owner - Help!
Hey, Reddit-- I've cared for snakes when I was younger, but I don't have any equipment right now and need the bare essentials to help this snake thrive.
I just rescued an adult female BP from a family that had HORRIBLE husbandry-- all she has is a screen-top 40gal glass cage, a water dish, aspen shavings and a ZooMed UTH-- no temp gauges, no humidity gauges, no hides (???). It's amazing to me that this snake seems relatively healthy and chill.
I've covered the cage top (with ventilation) and turned my AC up to as high as it goes (ambient room temp 75). I'm en route to a supply store, but until I can rehome this girl, I need to keep it as cheap as possible (student budget) while keeping this snake alive and happy at correct temps and humidity.
What's the bare minimum I need?
