[Build complete] 7 years of laptop gaming pain has finally come to an end. Thanks r/buildapc!!
Pics/build log: http://imgur.com/gallery/h9sac
As the title says, I've spent the last SEVEN years gaming on a HP laptop. It's been painful. Now, after two years of saving and with help from all the kind folks at r/buildapc, I've finally ascended. I went with a Ryzen 5 1600/Sapphire Rx580 combo and, after a month using the system to play AAA 1080p games, I've had zero problems of note and am feeling pretty pleased with my choices :)
Thanks to everyone on this forum who has advised me over the past two years - I genuinely doubt I would have done this if it wasn't for this sub :)
One question, if anyone has any ideas, I have a black border around the edge of my screen (about 1cm), even though "HDMI scaling" in Radon settings is set to 100%. Any ideas?
Peace and love y'all.
