Quick question from a returning player.

I decided to give Eve another go after years of not playing. I have a character with a few months worth of skills learned 1.3mil Skill Points. The problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing! Assume I know literally nothing, would I be better off making a new character and just starting fresh?
