Question: How many of you were exposed to postmodernism or queer theory during school?

DISCUSSION

I've noticed that a lot of very educated women post here. I did my undergraduate work in political science, I have a law degree and I also masters degree in a computer information systems. Throughout my schooling I was never really exposed to post modernism or queer theory. I did read Foucault as an undergrad, but I guess I never really "got it." I also had a friend who was probably gender fluid, although since I'm pretty "live and let live," I never thought too much about it. Also this was almost 20 years ago. So I'm ignorant about these subjects. I think this is why I'm perpetually flummoxed by their claims and the logic, or lack thereof, behind their explanations. Also since I'm comfortable looking through academic research (I've had some articles published), I am just plain confused as to what is going on. I wonder if anyone else is in this situation?
