Who to play as for first game?

I'm a somewhat experienced EU4 player, but I've never Tried MEIOU before v2.0. I've been having trouble getting my bearings and am looking for a country for my first real playthrough.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Preferably someone who starts fairly small.

I've tried Ireland but the lack of diplomacy for Irish Clans makes it fairly hard if not completely unplayable.
