The Misconception about tank heroes.

News & Discussion

When people say that tanks heroes aren't meant to deal damage but simply protect their teams, they're wrong. Tanks are heroes that can soak up damage and deal damage to the enemy team as well, sometimes a lot of damage. Because at the end of the day a tank is a giant killing machine that has armor plates and will run over your friends and shoot missiles at your house, they can protect, but they can also attack. Saying that tanks shouldn't deal tons of damage is wrong, they're meant to be the big bullies but that's why they all have counters that don't require an equal amount of force, such as a mobile unit that can chuck throwing stars down their throats or a sniper that can hit that critical point, or simply someone up close that dishes out the damage that the tank can't hit, or might hit, but that's all part of the game, wondering wether or not you'll survive this attack, I mean it's not a bloody farming simulator. Imagine the game if tanks can't deal damage and wreck the enemy team. But then why don't we flood our teams with tanks then if they're big and tanky. Because we've already been there and it doesn't work anymore because no tank is over powered or broken when they have ninja stars in their face or a sniper rifle bullet in their head, or if they're froze, or if they got a little DJ flying around pecking at them and then pushing them off the cliff of happiness into the abyss of saltiness. And this is the game that is overwatch, there are heroes that you will fight that seem big and daunting, but they're not as tough as they look at all, and as long as you pay attention, and you're good at the game, you'll be fine. If you just play the game as it's meant to be played you'll be fine. Just remember all the tank heroes can be just as easily killed as any other hero, and that they all exist for a reason.
