Naming troubles! Hubby upset because I "vetoed all his names"
I'd say we have both vetoed an equal number of each other's names. Specifically he is upset because I vetoed his favourite girls name, forgetting that a couple of months ago he vetoed my favourite boy name. We recently found out that we're having a girl, and now I'm the worst wife ever because I don't like his name idea, which doesn't sound good with our last name and isn't even culturally appropriate. I tried so hard to like it, I really did, but I just don't think I could ever bring myself to name our daughter that.
What do I do? We have a list of 4 other names that we agreed on but now he isn't happy with any of them. It's pretty much a situation where he's giving up and relinquishing any responsibility in naming our child, if I don't pick his name. I just feel stuck, like I should give in to him, but I know I won't be happy if I do. I just don't understand how he's so unwilling to give up on his favourite name when I was completely willing to give up on my favourite for him.
Edit for relevancy: the name is Athena. For a half white, half First Nations child with absolutely zero Greek heritage. Am I completely overreacting or is that just too weird?
